Like many farms in Bedfordshire, R A Gibson (Colesden) Ltd previously grew a range of vegetables, selling to wholesale markets across the country.
The business specialised in Brussel Sprouts, at one point growing up to 250 acres, developing its own varieties, while picking, washing and packing nets or selling them in bulk to the market. In the early 1970s, the farm began to grow and process cereal seed. Mark Gibson later took the business forward, always striving to produce top quality samples of seed from his crops.
We aim to offer a range of varieties covering each category of wheat, including those that will suit different types of soils and position in the rotation. As a result, we have first-hand experience of growing all the varieties which we supply. We are farmers first and foremost and are always happy to hand on our experience of growing these crops. We publish a detailed analysis of each year’s harvest.
